Blackfire is a Smarthome company that has more than 30 patents on Wi-Fi Audio Sync Technology (zero latency across unlimited devices).

Opportunity:

BlackFire needed to have some concept product drawings for their new WiFi speaker product. Early-stage design products through research, concept generation, and prototyping.

My Process:

I worked with engineers, product developers to design concept drawings using various shapes, colors, and materials around the hardware constrain and physics limitations. We also research and review our partners’ products listing out the pros and cons of their products. We have found that usually one speaker has only one function, and isn’t able to communicate with each other using Bluetooth, or must use wires to connect with multiple speakers. Because BlackFire WiFi patented technology, backfire’s products can achieve portable and modular, which means multiple speaker units to achieve a much lower cost surround sound system.

I used AutoDesk 3D Maya software as a tool to create design concept drawings to speed up the revision process instead of traditional hand drawing concepts. My vision for this product is portable, modular like Lego, it also is contemporary, high-quality materials.

Solution & Result:

Drawings were used in presentations to senior executives and investors, manufacture product prototypes.
